BioEASI and the San Diego Science Festival

 March 27, 2010

On a beautiful Saturday morning, San Diegans flocked to Petco Park to see over 150 displays about science in a day-long event. One of the larger exhibits at the festival, BioEASI provided interactive science-oriented art (contributed by local SD artist Jason Rogalski), an opportunity for kids to explore science through art, and displayed the winners and honorable mentions from this year's Science As Art competition.

From clockwise from top left: The view from the BioEASI tent; we setup the exhibit on a hill next to Mr. Padre Tony Gwynn; the setup goes smoothly: art supplies laid out at the beginning of the day.

From left to right: "The Wormhole" an interactive art installation; the public explores black holes and their effect on time, an interesting science puzzle; detail view of the exhibit.

Hundreds of people viewed the winners of the Science As Art competition this year. Clockwise from the top left: A view of the exhibit; the winners on display; our sponsor Digital Art Supplies; art, made by young scientists, hanging in the breeze to dry.

Thanks to all our sponsors for helping us to jumpstart public interest in Science! ~The BioEASI Team
